Orcanos System Field description text allows the user to view the details entered in the Item’s Description(HTML Rich Editor) without any HTML and web styling just plain text.
The Description Text Field is a read-only field and it is auto-updated with the Item’s Description text. Users cannot edit or input data in this field
HOW TO ADD DESCRIPTION TEXT FIELD:
- Select Field Layout in the Customization section on Admin Page.
- Select any work item from the work item drop-down list
- Drag and Drop Description Text field from right side section into the work item field layout section on a required position.
- Select the Work Item and type some text and relevant data in the Description section.
The Description text field will show the text from Description field, as plain text.
It does not display:
- Images,
- Tables,
- Hyperlinks
- Web styles.
- Embedded Fields and Filters details . only the Embed Field/Filter name gets displayed.
HOW TO FILTER ITEMS WITH ITEM’s DESCRIPTION
Orcanos does not allow search conditions on the Description field. Instead, we can use the Description text field
- Click on the Work Item Icon in the Main Menu.
- Select the required work item type from the left pane
- Create a Filter and add the Description Text Field column.
- In the Work Item grid, the User can see this field and at the top a filter line can help the user find the exact text he is looking for that is displayed in this field.
- Edit the Filter and in the specify Criteria section add a condition that will use the Description Text field
