OVERVIEW
In this Tutorial, we will describe how to create ZAPs and integrate the Data from Jira to Orcanos System.
Zapier has two main methods. Triggers and Actions.
MAKING YOUR FIRST ZAP WITH ORCANOS
ADD WORK ITEM FROM JIRA TO ORCANOS
Let’s create Zap using the Orcanos ALM Zapier application which will take data from Jira System and create a record in the Orcanos System.
- Login in the Zapier Account.
- Click Create Zap button at the Top of the Page.
- Give a meaningful name to your ZAP
1. New Issue Trigger in Jira
- Choose App as Jira and Trigger Event as New Issue
- Click on Continue Button
- Choose Account: Either add new connection by selecting +connect a new account option or select an existing connection from the selection list
- Set Up Trigger: select the Jira Project from the selection list
- Create a new Bug in Jira
- Test Trigger: Click on selection list and click on Load More
- Select the most recent issue displayed at the top of the selection list
- Click on Continue Button
2. Add Work Item Action in Orcanos
- Choose App as Orcanos ALM and Trigger Event as Add Work Item
- Click on Continue Button
- Choose Account: Either add new connection by selecting +connect a new account option or select an existing connection from the selection list
- Set up action: select the Orcanos Project from the selection list
- Select the Work item as Defect (You can select any other work item from the selection list)
- Map all the Fields marked as (required)
- Synopsis: Map Orcanos Synopsis field data with the Summary field data of Jira
- Description: Map Orcanos Description field data with the Description field data of Jira
- Assigned to: Map Orcanos Assigned To field data with the Assignee field data of Jira
- JIRA ID: (Define a custom field in Orcanos of type: single line text box) and Map it with the Jira Key
- Click on Refresh Fields
- Test Action: Click on Retest and Continue Button
3. Update Issue Action in Jira
- Choose App as Jira and Trigger Event as Update Issue
- Click on Continue Button
- Choose Account: Either add new connection by selecting +connect a new account option or select an existing connection from the selection list
- Set Up Action: Only the Issue and Status field are displayed
- Select the Issue as the value listed on the top
- Extra Fields got displayed
- Map the required fields
- Orcanos ID: (This is the custom Field defined in Jira) and map it with Orcanos Work Item ID
- Assignee: Map Jira Assignee field data with the Assigned To field data of Orcanos
- Go back to Issue Field and map it with Custom Jira field Key
- Click on Continue Button
- Click Test and Continue Button
- Click on Turn on ZAP Button
UPDATE WORK ITEM FROM JIRA TO ORCANOS
Let’s create Zap using the Orcanos ALM Zapier application which will update data from Jira System and updates an existing record in the Orcanos System.
- Login in the Zapier Account.
- Click Create Zap button at the Top of the Page.
- Give a meaningful name to your ZAP

- Click on Continue Button
- Choose Account: Either add new connection by selecting +connect a new account option or select an existing connection from the selection list
- Update an existing Bug in Jira
- Test Trigger: Click on selection list and click on Load More
- Select the most recent issue displayed at the top of the selection list
- Click on Continue Button
2. Filter Action in Jira
- Choose App as Orcanos ALM and Trigger Event as Add Work Item
- Click on Continue Button
- Filter Setup and Settings: Jira Key — (Text)Exactly matches — Jira Key value
- Click on Continue Button
3. Update Work Item Action in Orcanos
- Choose App as Orcanos ALM and Trigger Event as Update Work Item
- Click on Continue Button
- Choose Account: Either add new connection by selecting +connect a new account option or select an existing connection from the selection list
- Set up action: select the Orcanos Project from the selection list
- Select the Work item as Defect (You can select any other work item from the selection list)
- Map all the Fields marked as (required)
- Work Item ID: Map it with the Jira Custom Field Orcanos ID
- Synopsis: Map Orcanos Synopsis field data with the Summary field data of Jira
- Description: Map Orcanos Description field data with the Description field data of Jira
- Assigned to: Map Orcanos Assigned To field data with the Assignee field data of Jira
- JIRA ID: Select the Condition Only Continue If…(True)
- Click on Refresh Fields
- Test Action: Click on Retest and Continue Button
- Click on Turn on ZAP Button
